Shannon Yee is currently an ARPA-E Fellow. As a Fellow, he serves in an internal think tank that identifies technological barriers and opportunities for ARPA-E funding, supports Program Directors in program creation, undertakes independent explorations of promising future research areas for ARPA-E, and actively helps create the strategic direction and vision of ARPA-E.
In 2007, Yee was recognized as a US Department of Energy Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative Fellow and worked closely with Idaho National Laboratory on transmutation and recycled nuclear fuel.
The following year, he was awarded a John and Fannie Hertz Foundation Fellowship where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley focusing on transport and energy conversion in nanoscale systems.
Yee earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering in 2008 both from The Ohio State University.
