Dr. Fadl Saadi

Dr. Fadl Saadi currently serves as an ARPA-E Fellow, with interests in renewable fuels and transportation, advanced materials for energy storage, and building efficiency.

Saadi received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) under the direction of Prof. Nathan Lewis. During his Ph.D., he studied the electronic and spectroscopic of several abundant transition metal chalcogenides and phosphides, focusing on earth-abundant electrocatalysts for artificial photosynthetic systems. Saadi also spent several months as a visiting fellow at the Dow Centre for Sustainable Innovation in Brisbane, Australia studying the techno-economic viabilities of different solar to chemical technologies. While at Caltech, he was the Outreach Program Leader of the Solar Energy Activity Laboratory (SEAL), a program designed to involve high school students in cutting edge scientific research. Saadi received both a B.S. with honors and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
