Dr. Rakesh Radhakrishnan

Technology-to-Market Advisor

Dr. Rakesh Radhakrishnan currently serves as a Technology-to-Market Advisor at the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) where he supports technology commercialization efforts for the distributed generation, additive manufacturing, electrified aviation and artificial intelligence programs.

Radhakrishnan began his career at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) where he spent several years managing renewable energy and energy efficiency research programs. After UTRC, he worked as a management consultant at Navigant and Thomson Reuters, supporting a variety of projects across the energy value chain.

In 2013, he joined Saudi Aramco as a strategy and business development specialist to support the transformation of its power business (Aramco Power) from a cost center to a profit center. In that role he also negotiated joint venture deals, supported senior executives in the management of power investments, and spearheaded the launch of a technology innovation program. While at Saudi Aramco, he also played a key role in establishing the GCC ETL, the first of its kind testing, inspections and certification laboratory in the Middle East.

Radhakrishnan holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He has published several peer reviewed technical papers in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and holds six patents.
