Eleanor Garretson

Eleanor Garretson is an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). Prior to her work at ARPA-E, Garretson was an associate at Institutional Shareholder Services, where she advised shareholders on corporate governance and sustainable investment trends. She previously worked as a Natural Resource Specialist for the Bureau of Land Management, as an environmental law consultant for a conservancy non-profit, and as a volunteer public defender. Garretson volunteers regularly with the Employment Justice Center.    

Garretson graduated summa cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School with a concentration in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. She received her B.A. from Carleton College where she majored in Biology and Environmental Studies.
