2017 GRID DATA Annual Meeting

Generating Realistic Information for the Development of Distribution and Transmission Algorithms
(GRID DATA)

Annual Technical Review Meeting
January 26-27, 2017
San Diego, CA

On January 26-27, 2017 ARPA-E convened its seven GRID DATA performers and relevant Open FOA performers, as well as technical experts from industry and government, for the GRID DATA program’s annual meeting and technical review. Day 1 consisted of a full day of individual project presentations from team members developing dataset models and related panel discussion, industry speakers, three breakout discussion sessions, and demonstrations of the two dataset repository websites. The day concluded with an evening poster session. Day 2 consisted of individual project presentations from the data repository teams, and other ARPA-E projects presentations of interest to this community, as well as additional panel discussions.

The annual review meeting served multiple purposes:

•  Provided progress updates to ARPA-E leadership and other important stakeholders
•  Collected and discussed constructive feedback from industry and government stakeholders
•  Facilitated interactions between ARPA-E project teams
•  Explored potential avenues for further project development beyond ARPA-E
•  Brainstorm strategies for maximizing GRID DATA program’s impact

Seven project presentations were made by the GRID DATA principal investigators. An additional three presentations were made by principal investigators from ARPA-E Open FOA projects. The slides for each project presentation, as well as the Program Director’s overview, may be downloaded from the agenda below. 55 individuals from industry, national labs, academia, and government were in the audience.
