Carol Maldonado currently serves as a Grants Management Specialist at the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E).

She comes to ARPA-E with 21 years of industry experience, which includes work in federal real estate-backed loan management that was often combined with grants management for the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs, Loan Guaranty Division then USDA-Rural Development (RD). At USDA-RD, she obtained a deeper introduction into federal grants management on a much larger scale by administering loan and grant programs for USDA-RD’s multi-family housing, water & environmental (WEP), community facilities and business programs. Carol most recently worked with FEMA as a Grants Management Specialist for their disaster mitigation grant program. She brings with her comprehensive knowledge of government financial instruments management.

Carol’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in English, a paralegal certification, and a real estate license.

Carol is a U.S. Army Veteran who achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as a Voice Interceptor Linguist – Russian & Czech languages.
