Dr. Grigorii Soloveichik
Dr. Grigorii Soloveichik currently serves as a Program Director Emeritus at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and also supports DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office. His focus includes developing electrochemical processes and advanced materials for energy storage and conversion.
Prior to joining ARPA-E, Soloveichik worked at GE Global Research as a Senior Staff Chemist, in addition to being the Director of the Energy Frontier Research Center for Electrocatalysis, Transport Phenomena, and Materials (CETM) for Innovative Energy Storage. While there, he developed novel rechargeable liquid fuel cells and high energy density flow batteries, designed catalytic and electrochemical processes for functionalization of arenes and phenols, and developed novel electrolytes and electrocatalysts. In addition, while at GE Dr. Soloveichik served as a member of the Joint Center on Electrochemical Storage Research Advisory Board. Before that, Soloveichik served as a Senior Scientist at Moltech, now Sion Corporation, developing methods for anode protection and designing new electrolytes for lithium-sulfur rechargeable batteries. He is also the author/coauthor of 71 issued US patents and more than 125 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
He holds the degrees of M.S. in Chemistry, Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry, and D.Sc. in Chemistry from Moscow State University.
