Max Tuttman currently serves as a Technology-to-Market Advisor at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) where he helps prepare innovative energy technologies for transition from the lab to the market.
Prior to ARPA-E, Tuttman served as a Senior Associate at CustomerFirst Renewables, an advisory firm that focuses on renewable energy strategies for commercial and institutional clients. Before joining CustomerFirst, he served as a Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Research Fellow at Pacific Gas and Electric where he applied predictive analytics, simulation, and optimization to create a sustainable, long-term asset investment strategy for a system of more than 40,000 aging transmission towers. Tuttman has also delivered software solutions to over a dozen utilities as a Product Manager at PowerAdvocate and supported technology development strategy at the renewable fuels startup Joule Unlimited.
Tuttman earned his MBA and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds an Sc.B. in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University.
