Fellow

Dr. Ryan Chaban currently serves as an ARPA-E Fellow where he is interested in enabling rapid technology deployment through advanced manufacturing, modular design, and fusion-enabling technologies.

Dr. Chaban earned his Ph.D. in Physics studying Nuclear Fusion on the DIII-D tokamak in San Diego, California where he designed an experiment to examine the isotope effect on edge fueling leveraging new diagnostic techniques. During graduate school, he served as an Energy Policy Intern with Dominion Energy through the Commonwealth of Virginia Engineering & Science Fellowship (COVES), where he studied controlled environment agriculture, carbon pricing models, and advanced nuclear energy concepts.

Dr. Chaban holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Case Western Reserve University, where his research focused on additive manufacturing techniques, optical data storage, and a minor in History and Philosophy of Science.
