SBIR/STTR Funding Opportunity for GENSETS Program
ARPA-E has announced another Financial Assistance Funding Opportunity for eligible Small Businesses Concerns under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. This SBIR/STTR Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is a companion program to GENerators for Small Electrical and Thermal Systems (GENSETS) program (12 new GENSETS projects were announced last month), which is aimed at developing generator technologies that will enable more affordable and efficient residential Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems.
The GENSETS SBIR/STTR FOA seeks applications from eligible Small Business Concerns for transformative generators/engines with 1 kW of electrical output (kWe) that are highly efficient (40% fuel to electricity), long lasting (10 years or more), low cost ($3,000 or less per system), and clean. Heat engines and generators capable of achieving these targets may include internal and external combustion engines, turbines, and solid state devices such as thermophotovoltaics, thermionic emitters, and thermoelectrics.
The deadline to submit a Full Application for the GENSETS SBIR/STTR FOA is 5 p.m. ET on Monday, August 17, 2015. Additional information on eligibility of Small Business Concerns to apply to this FOA and other Full Application submission requirements is available on ARPA-E’s online application portal, ARPA-E eXCHANGE.
